Abstract Deadline Extended ISEM 2011 (ISEM2011)

15 April 2011

Dear Sir/Madam,

About one month has passed since 11 March, the day the massive earthquake hit east Japan.

Japan has been facing many extremely arduous situations now.

Yet at the same time, we fully understand that a number of people, countries, and organizations all over the world have extended their best wishes to us, and been supported us.

We appreciate for such assistance and the bonds of friendship, "Kizuna", as our Prime Minister Naoto Kan said.

And, also thank you for your interesting on The 4th International Symposium on Energetic Materials and their Applications, ISEM2011.

Please find the two announcements down below.

1. About the schedule of ISEM2011

So far, there is no change in the schedule of ISEM2011, however, concerning the effects of the earthquake, tthe due date of the abstract has been extended to 31 May, 2011.

ISEM2011 will be held between 16 to 18 November, 2011, Naha, Okinawa, Japan.
Okinawa is tremendously beautiful "Subtropical" Islands !

2. About the effect of Fukushima Daiich Nuclear Power Plant

As you already know, Japan is now struggling with a damaged nuclear power plant in Fukushima.
We understand that the radiation hazard would be a matter of great concern for all of the participants.

However, according to current observations, we believe that ISEM2011 in Okinawa can be held on schedule.
Okinawa is located 1,800 km south of Fukushima, and we consider that the radiation hazard there is low.
Of course, we are closely watching the situation in Fukushima to make immediate response to any change of situation.

Still, the Japan Explosives Society encourages you to attend the Symposium and would highly appreciate your help forwarding this announcement to call all those you believe could be interested in the Symposium.

Looking forward to your active participation in the ISEM2011.
