A series of test firings were carried out for the purpose of evaluating the ignitability of cylindrical firework stars. The stars were bare (unprimed), primed and partially primed and restricted (PPR). The stars failed to ignite when the lift charge was increased beyond some limiting amount. That limiting lift charge amount was then used to characterize the ignitability of the stars. The ignition-limit lift charges amounts for primed and PPR stars were larger than that for bare star and correlated well with each other. This suggested that both might be used for evaluating the ignitability of primed stars. The ignitability of primed stars was not constant but varied with the ignitability of the bare stars.
円筒形煙火裸星,全面着火剤被覆星および接着剤・着火剤塗布星の揚薬量を変えた打ち揚試験を行った。揚薬量を増していくと星は着火しなくなった。星が着火しなくなる限界の揚薬量を着火限界揚薬量と定義し,着火性の尺度とした。着火剤被覆星および接着剤・着火剤塗布星の着火限界揚薬量は裸星のそれより大きかった。着火剤被覆星と裸星または接着剤・着火剤塗布星の着火限界揚薬量間の相関は良く,どちらも着火剤被覆星の着火性の評価に使えよう。着火剤被覆星の着火性は一定ではなくそれが被覆している裸星の着火性の影響を受ける。粉末組成物の線燃焼速度の大きい裸星の着火性は大きい傾向があった。
